Walking
There’s nothing better than exploring Paris on foot.
Of course, you need to know a few of the “best” routes—the ones that let you discover Paris in the most wonderful way.
Here are some of the most beautiful walks:
- The Champs-Élysées: Start at Place de la Concorde and walk up the famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées
- The banks of the Seine: Start at the Bastille metro station, walk down to the Port de l'Arsenal, head toward the Seine, and then make your way to Notre Dame de Paris.
- The Tuileries Garden: Start at Place de la Concorde and head toward the Louvre Pyramid, crossing the entire garden through the middle until you reach Rue de l'Amiral de Coligny.
- ....

Cycling
There are thousands of them all over Paris!

Taxis
Of course, as in all major cities around the world, there are taxi stands all over Paris, especially near historic monuments and the city’s most popular attractions.
Available 24 hours a day—very convenient when you arrive in Paris at 1 a.m. when public transportation is no longer running.
Watch out for fake Parisian taxis. Real taxis have a lighted sign on their roofs; green means available and red means unavailable.
