Eiffel Tower - The "Grande Dame".
The Eiffel Tower is a listed historic monument, and the emblem of France to the world.
Standing 330 meters high and weighing almost 10,000 tons, it was built in two years by Gustave Eiffel and his collaborators for the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution.
Originally built for 20 years, it was not demolished, first to house a radio antenna, then a television antenna at the top.
